What is your COVID-19 Policy?
Until further notice we are limiting all consults and photo sessions to 1-on-1 client/photographer interaction only. This policy supercededs any FAQ items on this page. Read more about our policy in our COVID-19 statement.
What is Boudoir vs. Glamour Photography?
From Wikipedia: “(/ˈbo͞oˌdwär/) Boudoir photography is a photographic style featuring intimate, sensual, romantic, and sometimes erotic images of its subjects in a photographic studio, bedroom or private dressing room environment, primarily intended for the private enjoyment of the subject and his or her romantic partners.”
Glamour photography is about giving women confidence and about making all women feel beautiful. Glamour photography is a portrait session designed to maximize the subject’s beauty. It’s a portrait session that can involve makeup, wardrobe choices, and fine-tuned boudoir-type poses typically outside the bedroom and in an editorial type setting. Examples of glamour photography would be MAXIM and Playboy magazine.
At BADASSCHICK Photography™ we specialize in glamour and editorial boudoir photography both inside and outside the bedroom. We photograph our subjects in artistic sets, classy and grunge locations with classic cars, motorcyles, in warehouses, outside, and more. We call it “Boudoir beyond the bedroom.”
Do I have to do my own makeup & hair?
It depends on the package you choose. Our higher-end packages include makeovers.
Do I have to pose sexy or nude?
No. You are our client and we photograph you based on what you wish to achieve whether it be boudoir, fashion, senior pictures, etc. Just because we specialize in boudoir portraits and artistic nudes doesn’t mean that’s all we do.
Do I have to have my pictures posted on your social media pages?
No. We only post your photos on our social media pages with your explicit approval. For every photoset you see posted on our social media pages there are many that weren’t.
Do I have to bring my own clothes?
Only if you want. We tell our clients to bring any favorite items they really love but for the most part we have thousands of wardrobe items from which to choose. We also have over 300 pairs of shoes, boots and heels sizes 5-12. We do ask that you bring your own black, white, or nude underwear to wear under our wardrobe, preferrably a thong so that it is not visible through any revealing garments.
Do you shoot video?
Yes. We provide videography and video editing services for video portraits, social media content, music videos, commercial branding, interviews and more.
I don’t live near you can you travel to me?
I’m a model, do you do collabs or TFP/TFCD?
No. We are typically too busy for collaborations. Plus we already work with our brand ambassadors and official models whom we represent. Our sessions are competitively priced however and provide photography of the utmost quality for your portfolio. Contact us for more info. If you have a lot of Instagram followers see next question.
I have a lot of Instagram followers, would you do a collab in exchange for promotion?
If you have over 15k quality followers and we feel your platform fits our vibe we’d consider it. Contact us for a consult to discuss. All collabs need to take place at our studio. On-location and travel sessions are excluded.
I want to become a model, can you help?
Yes! We can help you with your modeling portfolio photography and headshots as well as provide you with modeling tips thoughout your session. Our “For a Day” packages also give you a real taste of what it’s like to be on a real fashion or editorial set as you work with our makeup artists and photographers.
How do I become one of your models?
We selectively choose to work with talented artists whom we feel well represent our brand and goals. We select models from our prior clients who have demonstrated skill, potential, great attitude, and most important of all, reliability. If you’d like to be considered book a session. Also, missing or no-showing to your initial consultation eliminates any possibility of modeling for us.
Do you photograph bigger girls?
Yes. We have photographed many plus sized and curvy clients. We specialize in showing your beauty no matter what size, age, race, or sex.
Do you photograph men?
Yes! We have photographed many men for senior pictures, family photos, headshots, editorial, and even dudeoir photography.
Do you photograph trans?
Absolutely! We have done many LGBTQ sessions. Feel free to message us to discuss how we can meet your goals for a photo session!
Do I have to pay to work with you?
Yes. As with most businesses you have to pay for our services. We are a photography studio that provides pictures for clients for a fee, just like any other business.
What are your prices?

Do you ever do pricing specials?
Yes. Our Valentine’s Day special released around Black Friday. Follow our Instagram page to be notified immediately as each special is sold in limited quantity.
Do you take payments?
Yes. We can split packages over $499 in up to 3-payments (50% retainer to book, then 25% on the day of the session, and 25% final payment no more than 30-days thereafter). You won’t receive any of the images until final payment is received however.
Can I bring a friend to my session?
Only if they are part of the session (such as couples or besties packages) or paid for their own session and will be also having pictures taken. We do not allow onlookers, children, or pets on set unless they are part of the photo shoot because they distract from the session. The only exceptions are clients under 18 which must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone on-set.
How many people are on set during a session?
Just the photographer and anyone actually participating in the photos. Higher end packages that include makeup changes may have a makeup artists/stylist on set for a portion of the session. If you’d like a friend to join your session, you can split a Full Day Pass package.
Can I do a photo session if I’m under 18?
Yes. We do many photo sessions with minors especially for senior pictures or family photos. A parent or legal guardian will need to sign the portrait contract on your behalf, and a parent, guardian, or chaperone will need to accompany you during your session.
Will you Photoshop me to look thinner in my photos?
Absolutely NOT! We believe everyone is beautiful AS-IS! We will do retouching for acne, blemishes, cellulite, bruises, etc. but we do not subscribe to the act of warping body shapes. We specialize in lighting and body position to accentuate your best features and hide any problem areas.
Do I get to pick out the images for you to process?
We select images together during the session on the back of the camera. Ones you like are marked and then those are the first to be processed. We try to select at least one or two images per “look” and set. We do not do a “come to the studio and sit and go through every frame” type of scenario. That time savings is how we keep our “big city” service to a “small town” price.
What does image yield mean?
Image yield is how many suitable photos we’re likely to capture for each session duration. If a session yields 5-10 images, then that means you are guaranteed 5 processed images but may receive up to 10 based on how well we streamlined our session time.
How long does it take to receive my images?
We retouch and color-grade each image from scratch from the RAW capture, it’s why our photos stand out from the crowd. Therefore our turnaround is closer to a wedding photographer versus a mall portrait store. After your session is complete you will receive a few teaser images in 1-3 days to tide you over while we process the rest. The remainder of your images will take 2-4 weeks to complete and deliver based on our current workload. Currently with COVID and other considerations, images may take up to 5-6 weeks for processing.
What is the processing queue?
After we deliver your sneak peek images your session goes into our client queue where images are processed by order of session date. Depending on workload there could be several sessions ahead of you, hence our 2-6 week average delivery times. Also please realize that your session goes into the queue for processing only after it is paid in full. So if you’re on a payment plan, your images enter the queue by paid-in-full date, not session date.
How do you deliver images?
We deliver digital images to you via the cloud using Dropbox (signup link is below). Dropbox is a great solution as it offers both desktop and mobile apps. What’s more, you can leave your images in the cloud saving only the ones you want to your devices freeing up valuable storage space on your devices.
What do you process? Aren’t these images digital?
Everything we photograph is captured as RAW image data to be processed by hand by our artists. We decide tone, shadow and highlight, color balance, and all other considerations manually. We then color grade and retouch your photos in-house. We also never outsource our image processing assuring everything has our distinct cinematic look and feel. We go far beyond setting our cameras to JPEG mode and handing you a disc with default images.
My phone got lost or stolen and my boudoir photos are on it what can I do?
Since we distribute our photos via Dropbox, you can log into the Dropbox Web site and deauthorize your phone. This will delete the images from Dropbox on your phone. Any photos you saved to the camera roll will still be there however. If you have an iPhone you can remote wipe it through iCloud. If you have an Android, you can manage it through your Google Account.
How long do you keep my images before they’re deleted?
We guarantee your images to be downloadable from dropbox for 90-days. It is up to you to retreive them and safely store them on a backup drive. After 90-days our responsibility to protect your images ends. However, your images are archived onto our backup fileserver. If you have a storage failure after the 90-days period and they have not yet been purged from our archives, we will retreive and re-export them for a $50 unarchiving fee per session.
Can I have the RAW files?
No. We do not release our RAW files under any circumstances.
Can I sell the photos from my session?
Unless you’ve purchased a commercial or buyout license, no. The copyright to the photos always remains with us as per our Unlimited Use Non-Commercial License. If you wish to sell photos, commercial and buyout licenses are available with pricing based on distributon and scope. If you have a successful, established channel for selling photos we would also consider profit-sharing opportunities on a case-by-case basis. Can I submit photos to competitions, magazines, or gallery showings?
You may submit photos as long as there is no financial gain or winnings associated with the submission (commercial use), BADASSCHICK Photography is ALWAYS credited and tagged for the work, and we provide you with a written authorization and release for each submission.
I received a gift certificate or won a session at an event, can I upgrade it?
Absolutely! You may add features to your session or upgrade it to a larger package altogether for additional cost. Please visit our session upgrades page.
I bought a gift certificate for myself or a friend and never used it can I get a refund?
No. Gift certificates are non-refundable. However, you can gift or sell it to another friend before the expiration date.
I changed my mind, can I get my pre-payment / retainer back?
No. Pre-payments and retainers are non-refundable. Please be sure you are 100% certain you wish to contract our services before paying the retainer.
I’m sick the day of the session, do I lose my pre-payment / retainer?
If you are ill or befall some other tragedy before your session date we will reschedule the shoot one (1) time. However, it is imperative that you contact us immediately before your session start time and let us know. If you no-call no-show, you forfeit your pre-payment / retainer regardless of the circumstances. Also, getting called-in to work an hour before the session is not a valid reason. We require 24hrs advance notice for cancellations so please firmly coordinate your time off with your employer.

Can I bring my pet to the studio?
Unfortunately pets are no longer allowed in our studio. Please see that your pets are cared for during your photo session. Missing a session last minute due to inability to find a sitter forfeits your retainer. If you wish to take photos with your pet, outdoor sessions are available. Please note: Our wardrobe is not available for use in pet sessions.
